Our giveaway for this week is one our family personally enjoyed, and one I would never have tried if it weren’t for the Crew. It is a wonderful hands-on spelling program that most who tried, loved. And one reader will have the chance to try it soon, as we are giving away an All About Spelling Level One Workbook and Starter Kit!
“Level One in the All About Spelling series brings together the three pathways to learningauditory (hearing), visual (seeing), and kinesthetic (touching). This multisensory approach, combined with a built-in review system and reinforcement activities, ensures that students retain what they learn and understand how to apply it in practical situations.
In a practical, hands-on way, your student will learn:
- How to say and write the first 32 phonograms
- How to segment words into their individual sounds
- Short and long vowel sounds
- How to identify and count syllables in a word
- How to choose between c and k at the beginning of a word
- When to double f, l, and s
- How to spell /k/ at the end of a word
- How to form plural words by adding s or es
- Compound words
- Open and closed syllable types

This sounds great! My son struggles with spelling, we have tried so many different spelling programs, but this one looks exciting!!!

I have desperately looked for something that would help my daughter. She has a speech impediment that has her trailing her younger brother. She needs multiple sources for learning, i.e. tactile, audio, visual. This looks like it may just what I’ve been looking for.

I have read about this curriculum a couple of times recently and had never heard of it before. It certainly seems to get glowing reviews, but I don’t really “get” how the curriculum works, or what is supposed to make it so different and successful. I found this giveaway when I Googled the program, trying to find a used set for sale. My oldest DS is an excellent, intuitive speller, but my second struggles, and I would love to use this program with him.
